Honey

My son is 1 years old, he sees me eating honey or just sees it and wants to reach for it, he tries to put it in his mouth and I take it away. I would like to let him try it but i don’t know if it’s safe for him to try it yet, can someone please tell me if it’s safe or not for him?

I am very hesitant about this as well. My baby is 13 months. I’m still waiting a little bit longer. I’m gonna wait till probably 16 to 18 months but all pediatricians say after 12 months is fine so it’s up to you, Mommy. But if you don’t want him to have it, maybe you abstain from it until you are ready to share

@Ebony thank you, I’ve always heard after their one but I’m just not 100% sure yet, I think he will love it since he’s not very picky but I might wait a little

Honestly my babies a year old hes had honey a few times but in moderations with a close eye after for a few hours and hes been good so far. Hope the same goes for you :)

@Sam thank you, I hope he has no reaction

My daughter is 14 months she loves honey, local honey has a lot of benefits as well. Helps with allergies and skin problems as well as a sweet treat that’s not unhealthy!

I gave mine honey a handful of times and he seemed fine

I've given it to my 13 year old and have no problems. Not on its own though just an ingredient in other food

I use 1 tsp of honey to sweeten his morning bottle of whole milk. My GMA started honey in milk after 1 yr. Start small in case baby gets a tummy ache. My son had bad eczema on his face and arms and after changing from formula to whole milk it instantly went away.
