I 2nd solid starts app. Also take their free cpr course if you aren't certified. Theres a section on gagging/choking that's important. I did BLW w all 3 of my kids. Best thing ever!
Avacodo and banana has been a favorite. Just little bites
@Becca yes, this girl DEVOURED bananas! Trying avocado soon, hopefully she likes it
@Kelly organic grassfed butter mixed into avacodo is my secret for better sleep. And it's great for their brains!
@Becca wha???? How does that work? There may be a trip to the grocery soon!!
@Kelly the fat from both go straight to the fear part of their brain and calm them supposedly. But it also just gives them enough fat (like really fatty hind milk) and keeps them full for longer. He was waking up 4 or 5 times a night and now we have cut back to 2 every night I do it right before bathtime and night routine
@Becca this might be the ultimate pro tip! Thank you!
Def solid starts! Educate yourself on the difference between chocking and gagging, and just go for it :) No teeth doesn’t mean no food. Their gums are extremely powerful. Tonight my 8mo had rice, green beans and a piece of bread (his favorite!)
To be honest. My boy just started showing interest in food at almost 8 months. His favorite is little bit of what ever we are eating. He doesn’t care for his purées
I started to transition my son from purees to more solid food by giving him teething crackers and puffs that dissolve easily. Once I felt comfortable with that I introduced the following: corn on the cob (you cut the kernels half off and leave the other half so they can suck), another thing I gave him is the stone of a mango with just enough mango to suck on, then I did egg cut into 2in strips.
My daughter has eaten everything we’ve given her and she has no teeth. She tore up a piece of steak lol but we did start with avocado, banana. She devoured a tomato wedge. We also use solid starts. She also loves cottage cheese mixed with fruit
Banana, toast with almond butter, chunks of sweet potato, scrambled eggs, chunks of avocado, no sugar added mandarine fruit cups, pancakes (we mix in apple sauce to the batter), my son also loves rice (cooked in bone broth), meat and carrots very lightly blended to help stick together!
We use solid starts app too. Tried egg and tofu recently. Gerber also has some more advanced textured jars of food like slightly chunky purées. We also do some finger snacks like the poofs and rusks.
Solid starts is a good app and has an IG account. So far, I haven't paid for it and still like it!
