Allergies

My baby is allergic to eggs, she comes out in hives, etc, but has always been fine with everything else. Recently, she has started coming out in hives when having butter and yoghurt, but no reaction to milk or cheese, which i find strange. Has anyone else experienced this? I assumed if it was dairy, it would be all dairy and not a pick and choose kind of situation 😂 Also does anyone know if i have to use dairy free yog specifically designed for children, or can she eat any? Dependant on sugar content, etc.

All so can be a build up sort of thing my son would be ok on day 1 or 2 of a stage in the ladder but by day 3 couldn’t tolerate anymore. X

Oh, that's really interesting, thank you. We went to the doctors with the egg allergy, and I was just told to leave it and reintroduce in 6 months' time and see what happens. I might go back and see if they will test since it's more than just egg now x

I would 100% go back and request a referral to an allergist. There’s 2 main types of reactions IGE and non IGE your lo is having IGE reactions to food and not to try scare you they can range in severity we have been lucky and only had a handful of scary reactions when we’ve had slip ups through cross contamination mostly just hives which clear up with antihistamines but we have had to have a couple of trips to a&e because of facial swelling and wheezing etc have a look on the allergy uk website they are great. I’ve found it’s very hard to get gps to take allergies serious unless it’s anaphylaxis x

I asked the dietician and they can have any that doesn’t have high sugar content which is usually the flavoured ones. We use alpro soya plain or coconut collab yoghurt. Both have less sugar than Greek and natural yoghurt. Also Flora butter is dairy free 😊
