Calpol

Does anyone else’s little one HATE calpol 🫣 I’ve tried different brands and the sugar and sugar free versions. Tried giving it to him on a spoon and syringe and he gags all the time. Any tips?

Mine!!!! 🙋‍♀️ he will do everything he can to try not to have it. Thing is he's taken other medications since birth and been absolutely fine taking them until we had to introduce calpol after his first lot of jabs now he cries and twists, the lot!!!

@Becky it’s so hard because I know it’s going to help him but he makes it so hard 😩

I know!!! I think it's the stickiness of it potentially. But definitely it's hard cause you're like it's going to make you feel better but they make you feel awful for it

Have you tried giving it to him in a bottle teat? I do that with my LG and it makes it easier for her to take it.

My little girl hates calpol but will take the one from home bargains and i find if i give her some then put her dummy in for her to swallow she’s content x

My boy is the same but I’ve recently found if I give him some then put his dummy straight in he’s ok!! X

I use the bottle teat and he takes it absolutely zero issues now! Was just spitting it from the syringe x

I’ve heard of people doing it with the bottle teat but unfortunately that didn’t work for us. When I’ve given it I tickle under her chin and tilt her head so she laughs and opens her mouth and I just do it slowly to avoid her spitting it back out. I can’t believe there’s not an easy way to do this yet 🤣

My LO is the same. I hold my LO in the cradle position with head slightly raised and place the syringe at side of mouth and squirt in slowly. once swallowed, I then give a bottle x
