Finding a sitter

We don’t have any friends or relatives around. Have met some decent neighbors, but nobody we are comfortable asking to babysit yet. Has anyone had success with care.com or something similar for finding a babysitter? I’m talking like 3 hours. Also my husband is an absolute psycho when it comes to leaving our daughter alone (I’m not)…so any suggestions of places with cameras (drop in) are appreciated.🙏

There should be Facebook groups in your city that you can find child care most people will recommend a sitter they’ve used personally on city Facebook groups also. We have had luck on care(.com)

I found June Care to be helpful. The providers over flexible rates which I needed as I personally only 15/H so couldn’t afford to also pay someone that much. Haven’t left him alone yet as I work from home but may be changing jobs soon

I use to work as a babysitter using care.com! I had to pay to have an account because it covers the costs of backgrounds checks! I also always had interviews with families before deciding if we are a good match to work with! All my babysitting gigs I would sit at their house and 99% of them all had cameras in their home so they could always check in on their babies !

@Azariah Ayana do u live near hickory?

@LeNae ya I can’t justify paying more than $15…

@LeNae it can be tax free

Definitely use care.com as those sitters are willing to pay to be background checked and use the app. Means they’re serious. I was a babysitter on care.com for several years before I became a mum.

@Erica I don't ): im in California im sorry

Definitely be a psycho when leaving your daughter with anyone…you never know and they are so defenseless at that age. Care.com is good if you get a sitter that has paid for a background check. Also get a camera or a few if your husband doesn’t feel 100% sure about leaving her with someone else, that has help me with my anxiety a lot! I feel that is better safe than sorry!
