Ground Meat

What age did everyone introduce ground meat to their babies? I made some lamb koftas for my 7 month old today. He seemed to really enjoy the taste, but struggled with the texture. Lots of gagging and he even threw up. Should I wait a bit before I offer him ground meat again? Or should I try again and maybe serve it with a purée or dip to help with the texture?

We did it at 6 months as a chilli but that was blended. Last week I made chicken koftas and had the same reaction with gagging. I’m going to carry on giving it so he gets used to the texture as he seemed to really enjoy the taste.

I've given it from 6 months. My baby has gagged and sometimes been sick at every new texture she had. The key is to keep trying it. Now she's 10.5 months and eats everything without hesitation x

6months.. mashed it together with sweet potato so it’s easier to swallow

We did mince and fish from 7months and then tougher meats like chicken and pork etc from about 8months when he had nailed chewing,

It can take time to get used to new textures but keep offering. My girl is 7.5 months and has had mince, chicken, pork, steak. She had ribs yesterday. All cooked in different ways so she gets used to it ☺️

6 months. My son LOVED ground beef. Now at 2 he only eats steak off the bone.....

6 months here!

My baby is 8 months. I did ground beef with potatoes and carrots and she loved it! I also blended on the side a tomato with garlic & onion and mixed with the ground beef for more flavor

I did a spaghetti bolognaise with ground beef around 7 months. Maybe just try with different textures/ sauces

the only food i’ve tried that i would definitely wait longer to give my baby is pork chops, it was far too tough and chewy for him (he’s 8 months) x

otherwise everything is fine xx
