Bamboo sheets and PJs might provide some relief

I am going through the same thing!! I literally have to sleep with a towel under me at night. Or during the day I sometimes have to change clothes because Iā€™ll be sweating so bad. Sadly I havenā€™t found anything that helps.

I have bamboo sheets I think they are awful and I bought a new mattress last year but it's sleeping way hotter then it ever said it would it just retains all my heat! My feet feel like fire then I strip everything off then just my feet turn to ice cubes just ughhhhh

It's like ice fire all at the same time. I'm only 40. šŸ˜šŸ„µšŸ„µ

Natural fiber sheets. I sleep in 100% cotton mens under shirts I get at target. I get black ones you cant see through and bigger size so they are like a short gown. Avoid processed foods and sugars. Avoid artificial sweeteners. I use unrefined cane sugar for baking you can cut the sugar in most recipes up to 1/3 and not notice. Eating meat especially red meat earlier in the day and not at dinner time helps. I have found if I use selsun blue shampoo I will sweat more that night. Try keeping a food and even beauty product diary for a few weeks and make notes on how you feel and sleep each night. Exercising helps. At the very least get a good walk in every day. New chapter has a supplement that works for me. Estrotone. If you buy online buy directly from newchapter.com not amazon.

Adrenal fatigue can also make symptoms worse. I use Eleuthero Root for 6 weeks to treat adrenal fatigue.

I take supplements, and it solved all of these issues for me. It's a total game charger.

What supplements? I take Saffron and I took a break from it for a bit so I wonder if it's that or I just started taking a thyroid burner type thing. So my guess is it is that. Also anxiety.

@SW i take black cohosh and phytobalance. And then I take daily calm from pure encapsulation. I was hit with really bad anxiety and depression last year because of the perimenopause.

I'll look into it. What brand?

@SW all of the supplements I take are pure encapsulations.

Cool thanks.

Iā€™ve even went so far as to try a blanket that was advertised as working for night flushes & buying bamboo sheets, both of which didnā€™t particularly help. My husband put in a window AC unit for me, started facing away from me & only sleeping on half a pillow that way I could roll away quickly & use his pillow when mine werenā€™t cool enough. The best things Iā€™ve found is using cotton tees, I keep a stack handy, then I went back to cotton sheets, kept bamboo mattress cover & stay on top of my daily vitamins, especially folate, but I also take magnesium, peri gave me RLS, B vitamins & my mom suggested ashwagandha(sp?), which provided temp relief for other sleep issues, but it helps her & my aunt a lot. Sadly Iā€™m cold natured, so itā€™s extra irritating to wake up half drowned & freezing.šŸ˜

Oh and when we bought a new mattress, about 5yrs back, when the night sweats were first coming on, we also bought an adjustable bed frame, not only do I sleep with feet and head both raised, which seems to separate the heat a bit, we also set the legs on the highest setting, in hopes of allowing more air flow under the mattress too. I have to say that it def feels cooler than my previous mattress, but we did buy a hybrid mattress that has a ā€œcoolingā€ pillow top, but then again, my husband had purchased the highest rated pillow top mattress protector for our old mattress too. It took me 3 days & laying on at least 100 different mattresses to pick out the best fit, I also have a bad back & bum hip, then went through a pregnancy a few years into peri, Iā€™m extremely happy that we decided to go all out on our mattress purchase, itā€™s def helped in multiple ways, but even it canā€™t fully fix my sleep issues.

Yes mine adjusts too but it hurts my back and I don't like sleeping up. I bought a beauty rest and my husband got the purple

The purple is definitely better cool wise but it's firmer

I got the Sealy hybrid, w/posturepedic tech. I think my kids might actually both have beauty rest, idk for sure though. I know that my 3yoā€™s twin mattress has been wreaking havoc on my entire body for the last couple months, itā€™s in the floor though. Heā€™s been forcing me to sleep with him, dad is too big, so he only swaps with me on the weekends, since I wouldnā€™t want him sleeping halfway in the floor since he has an hour commute every weekday morning. My back couldnā€™t handle the purple, we almost ordered one in, but we decided to spend our anniversary weekend mattress hunting in person instead. My teens queen came rolled in a box, I was very skeptical at first, but his has a better pillow top than the cheaper twin we got for our youngest. I havenā€™t actually laid on it longer than an hour a couple times, to make him more relaxed to open up about ā€œembarrassingā€ things heā€™s gone through, but seems like it must be comfortable for sleeping.

I'll check that out. Funny we spent our anniversary weekend hunting as well and all summer. My husband tried 3 different purples if you order them online they will return them for free. Someone comes to you and rolls them back up and takes them elsewhere. Unfortunately we got ours from mattress firm and they charged a restock fee now I'm wishing I would have just paid the restock. But I think I'm going to give it to my son. He has a cheap one we bought a while ago on discount.

Thatā€™s where we bought ours too. I had no idea they had a restock fee, so glad we ended up keeping ours, my husband wouldā€™ve been pretty upset about it and probably tried dragging it back to the back himself, all while I sat there being stared at, as if I have the ability to stop a man tantrum, all I can do is suggest that he try to use his words, whenever a company has some ridiculous fee, that undoubtedly doesnā€™t even go to the employee who has to restock it. Men think they donā€™t have the male equivalent of menopause, yet they get more and more ā€œtesticularā€ with age and Iā€™m def convinced itā€™s manopause. šŸ¤£

šŸ¤£ yes to restock was like $400! That's a lot to lose to return

Window open all night

@SW omg that is quite a restock fee!!

Ya it's ridiculous. So I haven't had any hot flashes the past few nights. I wonder if it was from the saffron I was taking?

Tea and cake is always good. I find swimming helps, as well with the body pain, plus do a body scrub with mitts, after sweat build up on skin. šŸ’œ

Probably not popular but I notice mine go away (aside from big hormone fluctuation days) as long as I'm avoiding alcohol.

I don't drink so that's not it šŸ˜‚
