How to transition to a SAHM

I am having a second child this September and found out a family member who was doing our paid childcare voluntarily has decided that she no longer wants to when the new baby is born. We make too much to qualify for daycare payment assistance but can’t afford 2,400-3,000 a month for daycare. Which leads us to me being a SAHM. How did any of you make that transition to make it possible? I’m okay with leaving my job, though I didn’t want to at first, but I carry our insurance. Between having to have my husband cover that and relying on one income, I’m anxious and don’t know where to start.

I think it depends on how much your husband makes alone. We were comfortable with me becoming a sahm bc my husband made enough to support our family of 4. Daycare is expensive, and I would basically be working to cover daycare. It just didn't make sense.

Have you tried a in home daycare?

you should try to ask in a fb moms group! many sahms look to make a few bucks and will watch your babies alongside theirs...

My husband just switched his shift to swing shift weekends so that we can both continue to work. It starts in April and is going to really suck but it's better than loosing so much a month

My husband switched jobs to a better paying one that also had better insurance when I became a stay at home mom.
