Schools

Need help! What are the most important things to consider when choosing a primary school for your little one? Also, which is normally better - a small school with around 200 pupils or a larger school with 400 pupils?

From my personal experience, a bigger school now means going to high school is not such an insane jump. 200 in a school seems like a lot, but its tiny compared to 1500 at a high school.

My oldest started in September at a school of 400, its just an infant school though, so only Reception through to year 2. Its done very well and it doesnt feel over populated. Its also helpful to be so big because they get lots of exciting visit days from authors, scientists, (just had an archeologist!) whereas the smaller schools didnt. It was the only one in our catchment area though, so we didn't have much choice 😅

Thanks a lot ! That’s very helpful info
