Does he by any chance love Lord of the Rings? 😅
I mean I could not tell if it was masculine or feminine I had to google the name and it says masculine 🤷🏻
@Shannon iz-a-door
@Artemis nope not at all. Just likes the meaning
@Artemis that would be Isildur but definitely reminiscent 😅
I don't think it sounds feminine btw, Isadora would be the feminine. How about the spelling Isador/Isadore? To get away from the "izzy" if that's what is niggling you
Sounds masculine to me. Nice uncommon name
Google says it means gift of Isis - which I’m guessing refers to the goddess, however it made me think of the terrorist group. I prefer Isador / Isadore but still has the same meaning.
i love the name Isidor - i prefer it spelled Isidore, but you it can also be spelled Isador/Isadore. just mentioning that in case it's partly the spelling contributing to you feeling the name sounds feminine. i don't think Isidor sounds feminine - maybe it's the "Isi" part of the name that you are associating with Isabelle as that is the name you hear most commonly with a similar sound, but for me, the blunt ending of the name makes it sound masculine. and Isidor is a masculine name - it derives from the Greek Isidoros. 💙
isidor sounds masculine to me. the feminine version would be isadora?
Boys used to straight up be named things like Leslie, Beverly, Hillary, Ashley. If you like Isidor, use it!
Could you compromise and have Isidor as a middle name? If you both love it, then use it ☺️
How would you pronounce it?
