Thats very normal.
Totally normal. My daughter would rather I hand-feed her or use a spoon to feed her, even though she knows how to put the spoon in her mouth. Babies love using their mouths; it's the first thing they use to explore the world, and they're still chewing on everything. We do a mixture of BLW and purees, and we eat together from the same plate until she's a little older. It's what has worked for me; otherwise, she would rather just play with her food, which is normal too. But you've got this, baby is still young.
My girl is also 8 months and she would very much rather play with her food than eat it 😆 she also seems to not be catching on to the swallowing reflex as quick as my first daughter, who loved to eat at this age. Every baby is different!
Does she see you eat? Do you eat together? Eye hand coordination gets better with time. Especially once they start crawling. Does she play with toys and bring them to her mouth? If you are concerned, it may be a good idea to talk to her pediatrician.
