Interested to know what you mean by awkwardness 😊 Have you attended any of the Koala breastfeeding support groups at the children's centres? When I had my first they were really well attended and wish I'd gone to more tbh. Planning on more this time round, just haven't made it just yet (little one is 7 weeks). Search for "Koala Bossom Buddies Breastfeeding Support" on Facebook for more info!
@Elly it’s really hard to explain, maybe awkwardness is not the right word because on my side I feel completely comfortable it’s more on the other persons side and them not being comfortable with breastfeeding happening right infront of them. Maybe I have just met a few people who are not very representative of mums around here and are just not very comfortable being around breastfeeding. I have had a mum tell me that they don’t know where to look and I must feel embarrassed when my baby moves around while feeding and exposes me. I have had another mum make comments like I could never have the confidence to do that in public, and are you not worried about other children being around. I have been to the group once, it was so lovely but there was only 2 other mums there. I’m hoping to go again soon if naps line up 😂
It ssd to hear you feel like this and people have said these things although maybe the comment about them not having confidence to do it in public I would of taken it as admiration for you being able to do it and they havent. I used to bf but had to stop for personal reasons. Koala bossom buddies are great little group. X
