Milk

My son does not like drinking cows milk, eating cheese or yogurts. I’m still breastfeeding him but I know my supply is very low so I’m not sure what to do. Any other mom’s experiencing this? I have to find other ways to increase his calcium/vit d

We haven’t tried milk just cause my husband and I don’t drink it and my daughter will not eat yogurt no matter how hard I try. The ped didn’t seemed concerned when I said she wasn’t drinking milk. But we do lots of tofu and green veggies that are high in calcium. I’ve also never worried about vitamin d because our ped never expressed concern? Maybe because of where we live? I only JUST learned that babies should be supplemented with drops and we’re 1.5 yrs in…oops. But she also eats eggs everyday which have some.

My son has a dairy and soy intolerance. So we use coconut milk and it actually has more calcium than cows milk. Try a milk alternative and just check the calcium content on it. For vitamin d you should be fine if you spend time outside.

My son refuses cows milk of any sort chocolate strawberry with vanilla warmed up it don’t matter he won’t drink it i started giving him the pediasure shakes out of a straw just for my own mental comfort and he loves them

@Darien ya his peds told him to take vit d but I’ve been so bad at giving them bc he hates taking it. Also he has an egg nut and legume allergy and I know that’s all high in calcium. I’ll have to find other alternatives with food, thanks!

Have you tried smoothies? My boy loves when I blend up some frozen fruit, Greek yogurt and milk and he can drink it. If you’re feeling brave you can throw some spinach in too

You can try goat's milk or soy milk. Either is a fine alternative. Goat's is closer to breastmilk. We introduced cows' milk this month since my milk supply is down due to pregnancy, and she likes it, but it hurts her stomach. Her peds said he recommends soy, but Goat's is just a less popular option with more nutrition.

Lactaid or fairlife can be easier on stomachs as it’s lactose free
