I was told babies shouldn’t have solid foods until 6 months at least
We're waiting until 6 months as the advice we have been given is they may look like they are ready for food but their digestive system won't be ready yet (and should also be able to sit up unaided)
@Whitney think it depends on your doctor. Cause my daughter refused baby food/purées at 5 months old and went straight to solids & her pediatrician said it was okay as long as it wasn’t big chunks
Planning to start solids (no added salt and no added sugar) for our baby at 6 months of age. We haven’t decided on puree vs baby led weaning though. Probably will decide cliser to when he turns 6 months.
@Linda my baby is the same lol I kinda feel guilty eating in front of him because he stares at me and the food and licks his lips 🙈 he also hasn’t really passed eating more than 4 oz of breast milk in every feed… the pediatrician said some babies are like that - not that interested in milk but that he might like food better when the time comes which should be once they can sit so hoping for 4-6 months old 🤗
We were given the okay to start purees as my baby can tripod and hold up her trunk at 4 months; however, we have decided to wait until 5 months
You can start doing cereal at 4 months but other moms prefer to wait until 6 months. If your baby is sitting up then maybe you can introduce baby cereal
You can start at 4 months but most people start at 6
I will start at 7 months. Please don't feed any fried food to a baby this little nor water or even a licking.
i think blw is supposed to start at 6 months but if your baby is sitting/grabbing you can start purées at 4 months if your pediatrician okays it
