I'm new to looking at childcare myself, I know private nurseries can get booked up, you may have better luck finding a childminder or nanny if needed. If you search Facebook for a group called st albans mums, and put a post on there people will give recommendations. There's also st albans childminders page, st albans childcare network, and childcare match Herts all Facebook groups you can put your requirements and see if you can find anyone that may be suitable. https://directory.hertfordshire.gov.uk/GuidedSearch/childcarefinder?fbclid=IwY2xjawJMFtBleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcgQUVERbDmYKDDgGySQE0u0A86I0Bx5v6yefSOnPywr0R0G8-g_DvjIEg_aem_zwdFwjoFjBugVTO-zn_HFA also this is a directory for all childcare providers in the Hertfordshire area. Good luck on your search, hope this helps!

Admittedly my little one has yet to start nursery but the ones that are further from the city centre/train station don’t tend to book up as quickly so depending on which side of St Albans is easiest for you to get to definitely check with the nurseries! My closest nursery has no waiting lists at all, so only booked it in after our little one was already 3 months old and got in without any issues.

Definitely look at childcare.co.uk that’s how I found my local childminder in St Albans and she’s fab, nothing wrong with visiting a few different people too xx

Thank you so much for your advise everyone!
