SSRIs during pregnancy
If you took SSRIs during pregnancy, was it worth it? Did you see any size side effects? I'm 14 weeks with baby #2 and I'm not doing too hot... first pregnancy I was a cool as a cucumber, this go around I am sad, frustrated, and have so much rage that I am suppressing I may be able to crush a brick with my butt cheeks. I just want to be happy again. My son deserves it, my husband deserves it, I deserve it

Hi! My son is 4.5 months old and I've been on 20mg of Lexapro daily for years and continued it through my entire pregnancy. My son was 8lbs 9oz at birth and has continued to grow well, so no growth side effects. He also did not have any withdrawal in the first few days. If you're struggling I would 100% recommend talking to your OB about it, your mental health is important!
Yes- I originally stopped when I got pregnant but at 24 weeks went back on and it was the best decision. Like everyone else said, the bigger risk is mom too stressed out for baby!

26 weeks pregnant with my first. I have taken the SSRI Lexapro for years to manage my OCD. My OB whom I trust completely told me that she has all of her patients who are pregnant stay on Lexapro during their pregnancy and the psychiatrist I have been seeing for years said the same thing. My OB said it’s healthier for the baby for mom to be mentally good. The only small side effect I was warned about is that baby may have a bit of withdrawal after birth and may be fussy for a few days.
