@Hollie no they didn’t🥲 They just handed me the SMP form today, and I had already sent the MA for 2 weeks ago. Now I’m stuck with these ones, don’t know if I’m supposed to refill the MA form and resend all together. How can I contact them as well?
Have you had any notification to say that they’ve received your MA claim? I had a bit of an issue last week and called them.. I was on hold for ages but they were helpful in the end and if you give them your national insurance number they’ll be able to look and see if they’ve received it x
@Hollie yes, they said they had received it and will get back in 4 weeks. May I have the number you called them with please? I need to call them ASAP
Of course.. they’re open 10am - 3pm, every time I’ve called I’ve been on hold for just over half an hour but you will get there. It’s 0800 169 0283
SMP is claimed via workplace and maternity allowance is done on an individual basis, so makes sense that work would be involved in the former application if that was done. As has been said, probably just call them; you could also ask work for proof of their steps taken ‘for your records’ as you might be asked for proof of why you won’t get SMP x
@Hollie okkkkk. Thanks a lot. Will call them today
@Jess thanks alot. I’ve gotten SMP form from my work place. So I will try calling MA office for further steps.
Yes sorry I should of added as well following from what @Jess has said, my work did apply for my smp but then when I wasn’t entitled ( haven’t been there long enough ) they then gave me a smp1 to send off with my MA application stating why they could not give me smp .. hope that makes sense x
Defo give them a call, they’re really helpful when you get through
Did they give you an SMP1 form? That’s the main one you need, it declares why you aren’t eligible for the company SMP
@Hollie I see, I guess that’s what they just did today.
Yes. I am on it now, taking so long though but I don’t mind. I’ll wait
@Frayere yes they did. But the issue was that I submitted & sent the MA form two weeks ago(havnt attached this ones they gave today)
Ahh ok that’s good, sorry I didn’t see the above comment about it. I think I was on hold with them for about 20 minutes, but they are really helpful!

Hopefully you’ll get the answers you need today :)
I applied for MA as I will not be getting SMP, so I got a reply from them within 3 weeks they sent me one more form and asked me to fill it up and send back to them only after I stop working or start taking leave to have baby. So I stopped working on 14th March, and sent them the filled forms but dint receive any reply or payment yet! Will they reply me again or I will straight away start receiving my payments?
@Hollie I did get an answer. I was asked to resend the SMP & MATB1 form to the address so they can attach them to the MA form I had already sent
@Hridzi omg 😧 I will advise you call them immediately to know what they will say about it. That’s why it’s important to send them earlier incase of these delays🤦🏽♀️
@Hridzi when did you request for your payment from them to start? I just received the same today.. the letter stated how much I’d be receiving and just explained that i obviously cannot receive anything from them until I’ve stopped working so I’ll be sending mine off straight after my last day. If the letter said how much you’d be receiving I reckon you will get it for whenever you requested it x
I had to have SMP too as I didn’t qualify for the works one. I had to fill in the form, my work gave me whatever form they have to fill in, and my matb1. I sent them all together. I would email HR asking they fill it in again then send together. I don’t understand why they’d send on your behalf. They probably didn’t do it to be honest.
