My baby is teething and her first two teeth are showing/cutting through. She's been refusing food or not eating that much the past few days. Can teething affect feeding ? She's been taking milk fine but barely eating the meals.

So in order to make sure she's fed I've had to give her milk ... Has this happened to anyone ?

Yes unfortunately it does 😞 they can go off food and milk for a week or even two. Try giving her smaller bottles of milk and sips of water throughout the day. You may need to do a night time feed again because the food has gone down. Once they are hydrated it’s good. Feed them melon, cucumber, pears anything that has a high water content so they are staying hydrated and it is soothing their gums too

Yea this is very common. My baby was at the doctors for something unrelated yesterday, but she's not been eating much, doctor said that even if she eats absolutely nothing and only has milk feeds there is nothing to be concerned about as baby will be getting all the nutrients she needs, she will eat when she's hungry/not in pain..

Perfect, thank you ladies !

Mine did exactly this. Wants more milk. I managed to get natural yoghurt down her but only because of the consistency I think. They’re little gums get so sore. Now they’re showing I’m sure you’ll see an up in her appetite and she’ll gobble everything. Yours is deffo because of teething but don’t be surprised if appetite drops ever so slightly. I read that their rate of growth is supposed to slow also now.
