We did different textures and combining flavors! I would take purées and thicken them with baby oatmeal, or if you make them at home just don’t puree them quite as smooth. If you’re also comfortable with it try scrambled eggs! My 7mo baby LOVES cheesy scrambled eggs.
Hi! I have a steamer and will steam any veggie or fruit and mash it up to make it a purée! I also give things like plain yogurt, mashed up hard boil or avocados, etc.
I was having this same thought!!! I’m hoping to do more multi-ingredient purées and things with protein/ fat because my guy needs to chunk up, but is it bad to introduce multiple foods at once at this point? I feel like I have to give up the “one new food every 3-5 days” thing because i feel like we will take FOREVER to get to meals like we eat.
@Casey SAMEE!! We are on the same boat! I’m like do we still have to do one food at a time?? Lol I’m slowly starting to mix but it’s been a while since I feed a baby 😅 I’m just like so lost but hopefully we will get it down
My pediatrician also recommended to me to start exploring meats. If you bake a chicken breast and shred it with a cheese grater it comes out as a really easy texture for them to gum and chew. If my husband and I are having a bland dinner (lightly seasoned, not too hard to digest) I’ll throw some of it into the blender so that baby can try out some “adult” food. I always make sure to keep a comfort flavor or texture on the tray though because sometimes he doesn’t like the flavor or texture of the food he’s trying. Hope this helps ❤️
I wouldn't say i do blw but I have started to introduce finger foods. Shredding cheese and ground beef, scrambled eggs, gerber puffs are one of her favorites, thinly sliced toast and pizza. Basically shredded food or very soft food. Adding in, doing one ingredient at a time is outdated advice and not necessary
I fed my 7 month old cottage cheese when we were out to lunch and he loved it
I’m still doing purée’s with more ingredients, I sauté the onion and garlic then I put the meat (beef or chicken) grilled for a little bit and then add the veggies, like carrots and broccoli. Carrots and beets. Squash and beets. I alternate the veggies! My baby loves! I am also terrified about the BLW, I am waiting for his teeth to come out.
If your family doesn't have any allergies, it's fine to not go at a slow pace. And yes, mix ingredients. You can introduce multiple foods, just remember the new ones so if there is a reaction, you can figure out the cause sooner.other than the big allergy foods, I wouldnt worry too much.
