PPROM help & advise

Currently at 23 weeks and facing some complications—a cervical stitch that didn’t work, broken waters, and cervical dilation. We’re in a waiting game right now and I’d really appreciate reassurance and advice from anyone who’s been through something similar. I had my first set of steroid injections this week to help the baby

I had prom at 19 weeks

@Jennifer do you mind me asking how the rest of your pregnancy went? X

My water broke 2/9 and my OB dismissed me:/ 2/12 I went to the er at a different hospital and got confirmed that I was a 22w ppprom with what ended up being a chronic abruption. I was hospitalized for a month, pumped with magnesium and antibiotics, got two round of steroids and managed to keep her in until 26w (25 was my teams original goal) but she’s almost two weeks and doing great in the NICU

@Cloey that’s amazing that she managed to stay in until 26w! So glad to hear she is doing well too, thank you for sharing with me. Hope you’re ok x

Aww bless you , 3yrs ago I ppromed at 22wks. I was admitted and kept in hospital, i ended up getting an infection so they had to induce at 24wks- We did have a lengthy stay in NICU, however he came home 2wks after his due date, oxyen free and medicine free ❤️ he really is thriving and now attends nursery. In 2023, o fell pregnant again and at 21wks they could see my cervix widening so I had a successful cervical stitch implanted, removed at 37wks and gave birth at 39wks to our daughter. I'm so sorry your pregnancy hasn't gone to plan.... I don't think wr can ever have a perfect plan! On instagram there's a great page called Miracle Moon- Run by a fellow nicu mum and is now a Psychologist 💜 https://www.instagram.com/miraclemoonuk?igsh=MXVxdjJ1bmZ4bzU2eQ==

@Elle (i can't see waves) thank you so much for sharing ❤️ the unknown terrifies me but it’s reassuring to hear lots of other stories with positive outcomes in the end. So glad your little boy is doing well 🥰 Thank you for sharing the instagram page too, I have given them a follow x

@Star awww thankyou , not a problem and also i know easier said than done but try and feel positive that's what I did as at the end of the day I literally had no control over what was going on !! The main thing to focus on, I would say drink plenty of water lost of rest and just breath each day as the closer to 24wls the better! Xx

Also go with what you want, when it was me they hospital was pushing for c-section but they said either way we wouldn't know the survival rate ..... So the surgeon approached me ad said go with your heart, so I did and I gave birth naturally as again we didn't know what would happen 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ , It's a scary road i know x

i was 25wks when i had PPROM with my twin boys last yr. i was admitted on 4/30, got the steroid shots and was on magnesium (hated it!). labor slowed but i ended up being 5cm on 5/2 and had an emergency c section at 25wks 6d. my boys were in the NICU for 2 months. very, very scary & traumatic time for me, but i’m really hoping for the best for you mama!! ❤️

@Shaada thank you for sharing, yeah I can imagine it was a extremely difficult and scary time for you ❤️ how are your boys doing now? X
