Where to buy fruits/veggies for baby puree?

Farmers market not in season until May but that's all we want to feed our baby. What are some good substitutions until the farmers market opens in May?

The best you can do is shop organic until it opens up. You could also plant your own it’s the perfect time to start a garden if you wanted fresh fruits and vegetables.

What's wrong with fresh fruit n veg from super markets? That's what I give my baby it's what everyone else ik gives their babies and children they are still grown in farms n stuff like every other veg

@Willow nothing is wrong just because it’s local doesn’t mean it’s organic unfortunately. Where I use to live some of the people from farmers market would sell the same produce to the grocery stores.

@Cheyenne what do you mean organic? I thought all fresh fruit n veg was organic? I'm confused 😭

@Willow unfortunately no. Some companies/ farmers who produce can legally put chemicals and hormones to make produce last longer and stay fresher, or just taste better. Or pesticides can be sprayed on the produce so insects will stay away stuff like that. Farmers market are great choice you just have to ask the right questions to make sure it’s truly organic and free of those things.

@Cheyenne that's so stupid thank u for telling me this ill be on the look out now x

@Willow at least in the USA anyway. In other countries things are definitely different. I understand why you were confused.

Look into any local farms, some sell whatever they have that is in season, Whole Foods or sprouts organics

@Willow this is our first child , we're new here 😭

@Cheyenne that is what we don't want our baby eating

if you making puree, you could save some $$ and go for frozen organic fruit and veg. Often times its picked and frozen at peak ripeness and can have more nutrients than supermarket veg that travels for thousands of miles and sits out on shelves. We have a farm share with a local CSA … its a huge cost saver for local, in season, organic fruit and veg
