I had a weaning class today and they said at first they likely won’t eat much of it at all. More just exploring it with their mouth and the texture and learning about it. Over time they will eat it more. I’ve heard the processed foods like puffs have lots of oil or saturated fats type thing so get babies addicted to crappy food early on 🤣
I think the idea of weaning to start with is exposing to different flavours, try to steer away from much sweet, and a little texture if you want to. No need to give fuller foods like puffs at this stage fir sure! There’s a great book called ‘how to wean your baby’ by Charlotte Stirling-Reed which gives you great step by steps!
Totally normal they don’t get any nutritional benefits from food at this stage it’s all about exploring it so i wouldn’t worry about him not actually eating anything as long as he’s still having his normal bottles
