Nursery funding

Baffled!! My partner works full time and I'm currently looking for a new job as didn't return to my previous job from mat leave. I really know I need to put my LG in nursery for development and me to work for sanity. I'm so confused by the funding. The gov website states must work 16 hours to get 15hours funded or earn a minimum of £183 per week. I've found a lot of 14 hour jobs earning less than £183 a week but do they give you funding based on my partner working FT? Othr friends do 10-14 hours with partners working full time and on pay an additional £50 per month nursery?? Help?? Please! I'm currently so stressed over it and avoiding all applications incase me returning to work leaves us worse off financially

To get the funding from 9 months you both have to be working

No it won’t be based on just your partner being full time, you both need to be working and earning a minimum amount.

@N 💞 do we both need to be working 16 hours each or can I work 10 hours say and he work full time? X

@Georgia is it me that has to work 16 hours or earning 183 min. Or is it overall combined with my partner?

@Georgi you both need to be working 16 hours, or earning the minimum amount. It’s not combined income

@N 💞 so how are my friends working 10 hours and getting funding x

You cam work less than 16hrs if the pay is more than minimum wage as it's based on earnings rather than hours worked. The amount you have to earn is the equivalent of 16hrs minimum wage, so you could work 8 hours at double minimum wage and be eligible.

@Georgi exactly what Carys just explained. Also, low income families can get funding but that’s totally separate to the working families funding.
