Nursery?

How is everyone feeling about their babjes starting nursery? Mine will be starting at 13 months in August doing 4 days a week 8:30-4:30 and I am starting to feel really anxious about it all. How are you all feeling? :(

I’m the same. I know I should start doing preparations like getting her to nap without it being a contact nap and needing to be held to sleep but I like it

Absolutely dreading it 😭 mine is starting at 11 months in June and it makes me not want to go back to work, I’m panicking I need to stop feeding to sleep and I am worried about her feeding as she is ebf and doesn’t take a bottle x

We start in 6 weeks and have our first settling in session today. I'm looking forward to him going but nervous and a bit sad at the same time. I think he'll enjoy it though as he loves music classes and any baby groups we go to, it's just going to be such long days for him.

I am excited to be surrounded by adults and not talk about babies and milestones all the time

My baby has been with our childminder/ nursery 3 days a week since she was 6 months old (she’s now 8 months) because I couldn’t afford to be on Mat leave any longer and although it was anxiety inducing at first… having found a really lovely trio of people that take such good care of her has really eased that. She goes from about 8.45 to 17.45 and she loves it, plus the stimulation of being around other small children makes her sleep well at night. It’s been a life changer 😅.

@Sally how long was his first settling session and did you stay around? x

My LB starts on Monday 😩😩 The first 4 weeks he will be doing 2 full days and 2 half days. Then we are dropping to 2 full days and my sister is looking after him the other 2 days (I’ve dropped my hours to only work 4 days) And then from September he will be 4 full days

We had the first settling session today. It was just 45 minutes and I was there with him. He was all smiles and giggles for the two ladies in his room which was reassuring and he was alright with the other babies too. He's in for two 1 hour sessions next week where I leave him and then I think it gets a bit longer until he does two half days the week before I go back to work and then he's on 4 days a week. His keyworker does the same days as him though so he'll have a familiar face.
