Anyone else's 3yo STEALS stuff? 😧

It started with my 3yo stuffing little toys from the nursery in her pockets, we repeatedly tried to explain to her it's not nice and have her an example of "what if another child took your favourite toy home with them" but it doesn't seem to get through to her because she keeps coming home with little pieces and toys she picks up at the nursery. Her person there is aware and does check before she goes home. But now she picked up something at a shop and I'm getting worried because I've never heard of such behaviour in a 3yo??

I haven't either but when my 3yo tries to pick up rocks to take home or touch something that we don't want ( like touch dog poop or a bug) we tell them it stays and is working. Hands off or if already holding put back it's working and needs to keep doing a job now. I hope that's helpful

All the time!!! She constantly comes home.with block, toys, dinosaurs, cars, pebbles etc from playgroups, schools and friends houses. I have to always take it back the next day or next week. She also takes stuff in shops. Most of the time i see it, so can put it back, but we have a few items, usually small soft toys she managed to hide that finds their way back to the house without paying. Gggrrr.... She also collects lots of little toys at school in buckets and then gives it to a teacher for 'safe keeping' so that other kids won't play with it. Lol. I have no solutions yet.

My boy has done that and its only happened a few times before and after i spoke to him he seemed to realise he shouldn’t do that and it stopped. But you just never know with toddlers lol
