Scottish welfare fund questions

Hello! Me and my little girl are moving out of my parents into a new home with just us two. It is social housing and my housing officer has reccomended I apply to the Scottish welfare fund to help me furnish and get in flooring. Has anyone applied and if so how does it all work really? I'm not sure if it's a grant that gets paid out or you get given what you're given without no say (which ofc is totally fine). I'm just feeling a bit lost with it all. Thanks!

Hey I applied for it back in November when I moved out of my parents with my little girl it’s very easy you just fill in the form online for me I got given the items the best advice I got was to ask for as much and hopefully you’ll get most of it. I asked for flooring,a couch, fridge, cooker and washing machine. I got all of it but the flooring was only in 1 bedroom and the living room so had to get the rest of it done myself

@Chloe aw interesting! Did you get a choice in flooring etc?

I had to get carpet because I have a flat below me but they did give me an option on the colour

They put bedrooms, hall , stairs etc but you will literally get 3 rooms max for the carpet and no underlay though, but I'd say definitely tick alot of the boxes and see what they offer
