I worked in Claire’s for a few years, Is it a stainless steel ball? It could be an allergic reaction to the nickel in the metal. Is there any pus coming out of it? The pic just looks scabbed. I would use a saline/ lukewarm salt water solution for a day or two and see how it goes. If pus comes out then remove earring and contact GP for antibiotic x
@Kayla hey! I ended up taken her to docs and they asked about metal too but her dad doesn’t know 🫠it had oozed abit the other day so she’s been given antibiotics as she said with her glands swelling too xx
Ooft, I'd give it a couple days to see if the swelling goes down, did you ask the doc if you should remove? Usually they say don't remove as it can deepen the infection but if it's a reaction to the metal you probably should. Second the saline rinse, easy to make with boiled water :) for future recs tell her da to make sure any piercings are done with a needle, no guns as they shoot bacteria into the open wound.
@Cherry 🍒🌸 the doctor advised to take them out so we did, her dad says it was a needle it was done with too so not sure what’s happened her ears have been done before and were fine. She’s on antibiotics just to be safe. Will keep cleaning it. Thanks everyone xx
It does look a bit sore. When I got my ears pierced I was told I needed to wash it with salt and water every day.
