Help?!

My little girl goes through this random outburst where she is simply put, a nightmare. She runs around the room, go running into the sofa, the starts jumping on it, and then will start flinging herself against the back of the sofa. My partner says she doesnt do it when she’s with him that much, I take her out once a day to the park etc, she goes to nursery two days a week, and we’ve been trying to limit her screen time but when she’s like this I can’t get her to stop, has anyone ever had any experience with this?

Is she upset when she’s doing it or just hyper? To me it sounds like she’s overstimulated and / or bored. Certain tv shows can cause a lot of overstimulation which can cause these kinds of behaviours but on the flip side too if she is bored and being abit under-stimulated she is probably getting abit giddy.. I would try some new activities & get her mind busy on things to focus the energy on!

@Cerys this is what I was leaning towards, boredom! Or it happens more when she starts to get tired. We’ve ordered loads of bits for the garden, so I’m going to try that, ordered some arts and crafts too!

is she happy when she’s doing this? like is it playful or is it more of a strop? x

she could just want some more physical play with you. my son loves being thrown around, chased, tickled etc xx

My son gets the zoomies before bed- lol it all the time but sometimes he just needs to jump and run around and get all the energy out before he goes to bed

The zoomies ☺️ Mine gets them too, just a big burst of energy (usually when she’s getting tired!) We just turn it into a game and chase her round the kitchen island or play the wiggles and have a dance party

Thank you for all your comments! I feel a bit guilty it could be because she’s bored, but I’ve got some ideas of some things I’m going to do with her!

@Bethany hopefully you find something that works! Don’t feel guilty if it is boredom. It’s sometimes a good thing for children to get bored! Teaches them to entertain themselves 😂
