Currently it's just based on income so I imagine it will be similar and the income amount will increase...but I haven't seen anything specific about the 30 hours yet..😬 I don't plan to increase hours either so will just wait and see if I qualify.
@Emma I don't think you have to work full time but you have to meet a income criteria
@Ruth the 30 hours start from September, I believe, even babies from 9 months
Sorry what I meant was I've not seen anything specific about the qualifying income/hours. 😊 You may need to look at nurseries now though if you do want to return in September and use the free hours.
@Ruth it’s min £183 per week.
@Kee that's currently for the 15 hours? I'd be surprised if they keep it the same for 30 hours.
I'm in the same boat. My daughter will be 2 in September but I'm hoping to work by then. I'm only wanting to work part time for now but hoping I would still get the full 30 hours free childcare
My baby is 1 year old. It's been hard to even think about working full time. I work a few hours per week. The other thing is that at this age, she won't stay with anyone but me, her dad, and her grandfather. Her grandfather has been babysitting. I tried to enroll her in in-home daycare, but it's truly heartbreaking the way she cries with a stranger. Life changes so much with a child. My mind is structured to want to be with her and take care of her needs, but then there is the subject of work
I’m due to have a c-section next week and already starting to think about it. I’m just in the process of finishing my PhD and looking at starting childcare in January next year as am hoping to get a post-doc position to tie in with the start of the second semester. Still at the start of looking into it though so this post has been quite helpful thanks ☺️
You don’t have to work full time to qualify. You just need to earn over the minimum amount per week.
30 hours and 15 hours is only term.time (38 weeks).if you stretch it to 52 weeks it works.out about 22 and 11 hours funded. e.g my baby goes 3 afternoons which is 15 hours, so I pay for roughly 4 hours a week plus £11 for the funded hours, works out at £200ish a month When the hours go up to 30 in September we're going to send him for 4 afternoons so will just be paying £20 a week
@Ruth thank you
@Emily GO MAMA.this sounds amazing!! And your very welcome
