Bad pain days

Does anyone have days where their stomach is so sore it feels like you're basically being ripped in two? I'm definitely hitting a rapid growth phase, and it doesn't help pgp/spd is starting to act up really bad. 😩 3rd trimester sucks, i couldn't even walk around for an hour without it putting me out for the rest of the day 😩

Yes!! Like I feel like I can’t eat anything because I’m about to pop! Especially in the evening. 32 weeks 5 days here.

@Kate ill be 31 weeks tomorrow, I'm so done already 😅

34 weeks today...feels like my stomach is going to bust open😣

@Nicole its like the worst sharp pain all over my stomach 😭 it's giving me anxiety 😅

@Annika I know it is extremely uncomfortable

Yes! It hurts to the touch too and I don’t remember that from my first!

@Brielle my stomach has been rock hard all day and definitely sore when baby moves 😩 he was just having a dance party a few minutes ago 😅

Yeah I’m in an ambulatory wheelchair situation due to extreme pain levels and difficulty walking, still do PT tho. I put on a maternity belt and then a sacroiliac joint belt over it and that helps stabilize and support to reduce pain.

@Anora I'm sorry the pain has been so bad 😭 my last pregnancy i could barely lift my legs from spd/pgp it was the worst pain in my life

@Anora hello! I have those similar extreme pains when I walk/ bend over and for some reason every time I go to the doctors they cannot figure out what it is. Could you please explain to me what a sacroiliac joint belt is?

@Annika Hello Annika! I keep seeing those terms spd and pgp! What do those mean exactly

@Brandi Smith spd means symphysis pubis dysfunction and pgp pelvic girdle pain! Pgp is more generalized pain around pelvic joints and spd is pain specifically in the pubic joint!

@Annika if you don’t mind can you please tell me how you were diagnosed with those two? Did you find out at a hospital or did a nurse at the OB office tell you that you had this? Because I am definitely experiencing excruciating pain in my pelvis area all the time

@Brandi Smith i actually never got diagnosed, they never really offered any help. My last pregnancy I had really bad spd where I could barely even lift my legs 2 inches off the ground. I basically had to do research on my own how to help it. Doing hip circles on a yoga/pregnancy ball helped, seeing a chiropractor regularly is a huggee help. This time around I've been doing pelvic floor stretches along with those other two things, and it has made the biggest difference.

@Annika that’s what I thought you were gonna say. Okay I think it’s time for me to go to the hospital because my pain right now is so unbearable that I cannot lift neither of my legs up without feeling excruciating pain and I’m tired of feeling like this 😭😭

@Brandi Smith its truly terrible, im sorry you're experiencing it 😭 get yourself into a nice warm Epsom salt bath!

@Brandi Smith Mine happens due to excess mobility and lack of muscle tone. The sacroiliac joint is the one at the bottom of the spine between the upper part of the pelvis. It was previously thought the sacroiliac joint had no mobility but it was determined that it does actually have some mobility especially in individuals who are hypermobile or have relaxin (the hormone pregnant ladies create). You can buy a good maternity belt, and a sacroiliac belt from Amazon or a medical supply store. The front pain is called pelvic girdle pain and it can be helped with the maternity belt slightly. You can also look up pelvic floor exercises and sacroiliac exercises that way you can support your joints by strengthening the muscles. And don’t forget it’s ok to accommodate yourself by using a mobility aid, for example: if you have to go to the grocery you can sit on a scooter. My doula (who is a trained PT) also said it’s ok to wear the maternity belt while sleeping.

@Anora wow never would have thought that at all! You’re such a life saver thank you so very much for explaining this to me I truly appreciate it so much ❤️! I have ordered a new maternity belt with a back brace and I am looking to order a sacroiliac belt next!
