Prenatals while TTC

Hey ladies, I am planning on starting TTC in June, so I starter taking Needed prenatals (and vegan Omega 3) a few weeks ago. Well, now my period is late by 4 days. I am 100% certain I am not pregnant at this time so I’m wondering if the prenatals have anything to do with this. For context, my cycle has been 26-28 days for more than 10 years. I also noticed that taking these prenatals is making it really hard for me to fall asleep at night (if I skip a day, I sleep fine). Does anyone have experience with this or any suggestions/advice? I don’t want to stop taking them because I know they help with TTC but also… if I don’t have a normal cycle how is that good for my body? I did reach out to my midwife but haven’t heard back yet. Thanks 🙂

I’ve heard Needed is a really good brand. Do you take them during the day or evening time? That’s the only thing I would think would be bothering sleep if you took them in the evening since they have B vitamins and those give energy. Maybe even the vitamin D as well. I noticed I never slept very well when I took my prenatals in the evening.

Hi! I recommend to my clients to do some nutrient testing before starting a prenatal. To ensure you’re getting the correct dose of what you need in preconception.

@Aderet Dana Hoch thank you! I will do that

@Rebecca I take them as soon as I wake up!

@Aderet Dana Hoch where should I go to get this done?

I used ollie for 6 months before TTC, had no sleep problems & conceived very fast!

@Jessie chat with your doctor about this. You should be able to get these labs requested. Test for levels such as folate, iron, vitamin D, etc
