Absolutely ridiculous to say that, I wish my mom close and can do the same, my son misses her badly and I don't have any time without him (only when he's at daycare, during that time I usually work).
i grew up with sleepovers with my grandparents! just think about the rest you can get while your mom watches your child. and how much of a better mother you will be for having a break once a week
I do the same thing and have the same feelings you’re having! But I think the exposure is so important for them and we need a break! Don’t let others make you feel bad.
I wish I could do this but our in laws are 2 hours away. I think it’s totally fine and great to have a night off. I think you could use that to clean or relax or date night. It’s all amazing and people who are saying that suck and need to stop. Do they not have kids to know how nice it is

They’re jealous. Every mom deserves a break be thankful you’re able to get one.
This is so so good for baby and grandma to bond, and so wonderful for you to have a tiny bit of time to take care of you! Ignore the haters, you’re doing great and this is great for everyone! My mum just took her 2yo nephew for a week as my sister has a new born, they have a great time, my sister can focus on the baby. It’s not good for anyone for mum to do 100% burn out doesn’t win!
