Insects

My mom only took my baby for me to have a break twice but recently my mom said she has “water bugs” and said they are getting out of control. Do you guys think it’s okay for her to still take baby for the weekend? I feel bad bc she lives and hr away and work 5 days a week traveling so taking my baby is usually the only time she gets. Wwyd??

What is a water bug???

@Trish that’s what I thought I just had to look it up😂

I feel like it’s possible like if you guys had a mosquito net to put over baby’s bassinet/crib to protect baby from any creepy crawlies but I have a death fear of those things and if I had any kind of infestation regarding WATER BUGS I would not be allowing any children to come into my house without fixing that.

They are Oriental Cockroaches. True water bugs like their name live in water. I wouldn't let my kids go over until the bugs are gone.

The bugs spread a lot of disease. It’s just not safe for a young baby to breathe the same air as those things.

Maybe she can go to your place for the weekend? Or you guys can meet halfway to hangout for coffee or something?

@Gwynalynn Yeah no she likes to go home and relax. I suppose she’ll have to be dramatic and claim im acting “funny” because my baby is no longer going over

Water bugs are occasional, around the house kind of cockroaches. If they are getting out of control then they're probably German cockroaches and she has an infestation, which means letting baby go over there is unhealthy and baby could also bring back cockroach eggs. Here's something I didn't know, cockroaches are an allergen so they can make your baby or even your mom sick.

@Genna yeah it’s not a go in the room and see 1 then a couple hrs later see another. It’s a go in the bathroom and see 1 then come out and might see another crawling in the hallway. She tried but it may be an infestation. I just feel bad bc she probably won’t move soon since everything is expensive and her job pays her enough.

Does she live in an apartment or a house? Dm me
