I’m with you girls. I had a baby Oct 15th and haven’t lost much. Gained as much as OP. Breastfeeding and hungry all the time. I saw a top cardiologist at Mayo Clinic this past week and he said I have to get my BMI under 25 for my heart and health. It’s so daunting. Any tips or advice I would appreciate too.
It’s so not talked about enough! The struggle is real and it’s very hard to adjust to your body not looking like your own. Blessed to be a 35 year old first time Momma after trying for so long but man it’s still tough looking in the mirror for me…. Being a health coach and personal trainer makes it especially difficult for my head space too I’m sure.
Em I see my regular cardiologist and they said the same to me need to lose weight because of my heart health and I guess I have become pre diabetic I don’t know it is daunting! Also what kind of snack do you eat with my first baby when I would pump if I ate high protein snacks I would lose weight!
It is so hard to adjust to this new body and everyone saying well you just had a baby it’s okay ! And it just makes it feel worse!
I had pre eclampsia and post partum pre e so they still have me on all these heavy duty heart meds that are BF safe to keep my BP down. Problem is they leave me feeling so tired plus I’m up with the baby at all hours. Dr said red meat only 2x a month, egg yolks only 2-3 times a week, 0 cholesterol foods, only non fat dairy and to adopt the Mediterranean diet. I’m supposed to do 150 min of exercise a week (aerobics and resistance) and stretching everyday. I’m overwhelmed.
I’m on a meal plan and lifting regimen to feel like me again! Deep core exercises have made a huge difference for me. I avoided them at first since I thought they were pointless. But when I finally started, I was sore from them and felt significantly tighter after 2 weeks!
Did you make your own meal plan or did someone make it for you? My diet needs a makeover
Hang in there ladies! The deep core exercises are so important and yes they definitely feel “pointless” and even frustrating at times but they do help with rehabilitating the strength we can lose during pregnancy. Seems so silly but even with all my years experience as a massage therapist, personal trainer (that specializes in women’s fitness) and nutrition coach, I still asked for a physical therapy prescription to get my foundation built back up. I follow a high protein diet and lift but this saggy skin is stubborn af!
@Em my sister made it for me since she’s a dietician. But I did look at several online people also for meal plans originally
Gosh do I understand this I had twin boys in October and I can’t lose anything and my stomach looks horrible with stretch marks and the hanging! I have tried everything so I will be looking at comments following this because this is such an untouched topic !!
