Afternoon ish I can eat out but not on evening xx
We pick where we go carefully. Places with kids play areas, places we know are a bit quick on service, etc. We fully expect one of us to be up and about with her before food comes, and that we won't hang around for hours after. This is obviously easier when we go out with family and everyone takes a turn entertaining her before the food comes. We do have colouring books, crayons, books, a few toys she only has at a meal out, etc, but often that just doesn't hold her interest for more than two minutes. For us, we see it as something we want to do occasionally as a family and the only way she'll learn how to behave there is by going there. A lot of is temperament and luck though. My little one loooves food and can usually be persuaded to sit at the table and eat with us when food has come. My partner also eats fast so when she's done, he'll get up and walk/play with her so I can finish in peace.
Too many serious allergy risks here unfortunately
We go out occasionally, usually for lunch as dinner takes too long and is too late in the day. We need to be really prepared with toys, books, extra snacks etc, and take turns to take LO out his chair for a wander. It's a full family effort at this point! 😅
I will go out with her as I don't feel avoiding the exposure really helps (even though it's easier not having to deal With this) . So I usually go places where service is quicker and eat and leave as opposed to a long relaxing meal. We use toys until food arrives and then bring out the snacks alongside food to keep her busy while I eat
We'll go for a quick lunch or something but not long evening meal as its too late, she's grumpy and won't sit still. Not worth the stress.
