Cooking?

Question, how are you girls managing with the cooking? If I put her down with toys she screams to be held, if I hold her she launches herself at the pan. I cannot think of a solution 😅😂 anyone found a solution? *we don’t do screen time*

I put the high chair in the kitchen and let him play there. And I have to move at the speed of light, before he gets bored and scream again 😭

The solution is the screen time 😂😂😂😂😂

Either highchair (and scream after 5 minutes) or baby carrier that goes on my back (and scream after 10 minutes) or pop on the floor and use my loop earplugs! 😂 my slow cooker has become my best friend over winter as I can prep during his first nap- even just half an hour asleep is enough for me to do a half decent dinner that evening! X

Tbh I try and get it done during his nap time and reheat for dinner so that I don’t have to deal with that stress 😂

@Gunes I did that today! She usually only contact naps so it was a small win for me ☺️

I do as much prep during her nap as I can then she goes in the highchair with highchair toys and then I have to be as quick as humanly possible 😆

Its a real struggle here! But it varies day to day, sometimes I make stuff during his nap and reheat later, other times I make when he's in his high chair or his playpen (we have an open kitchen and living room). I use the weekends to try prep as much as possible for the upcoming week when I have the energy and headspace to plan. I also pretty much always cook for 2 days at a time! It's how I grew up eating my mums pakistani cooking so what I've usually done and it helps us a lot

I try and prep the night before. I bring the highchair right next to me so he’s by me. We have wafer snacks before hand….basically anything to keep him occupied. Sometimes screen time as his 2.5 year old brother is around too

I was using the mamas and papas seat with a tray & just gave it away to get a highchair so she could sit and watch me 10/10 idea. We spent almost 2 hours in the kitchen, me cooking, singing and dancing & her laughing. I pray this doesn't change. Definitely recommend a highchair for the kitchen

@Lauryn that’s amazing! Hopefully she keeps it up - all these little wins make all the difference to our lives ♥️

I either cook whilst he naps or I put him on the floor with nursery rhymes playing on the TV

I generally prep during naps, sometimes the night before after he goes to bed if it's a slow cooker meal (back at work!) Otherwise he's in his highchair whilst I prep and I give him a finger food of a veg I'm prepping once he gets bored of the suction teether. Today was a slice of pepper. I also keep emergency mini cucumbers in the fridge just in case

Thanks girls! Soo impressed with your batch cooking organization that I definitely need to start doing! And lots of helpful tips! Thanks a lot :)

Jumperoo - loves it

A sling or baby carrier. Whichever is your preference. He's in it pretty much all day 🤣

I just wait til my husband gets home 🤷🏼‍♀️

Second carrying/wearing baby! It’s the only way I get anything done!

We got a playpen and musical toys. Baby loves his free play in the play pen. So good for their physical development too 😊 Definitely no screen time!

Also, we do a lot of cooking when baby is down for the night after 6:30pm. We don’t see him until the morning x

Ms Rachel 😂

I stick her in the high chair whilst I’m cooking and she is 100% fine. And she is a clingy baby
