I know it’s super stressful! But always remember food before 1 is just for fun! As for the reduced milk feeds - between 7-9 months they naturally/usually drop down to max 4 feeds in 24hr period at approx 5oz (obviously every baby is different of course so give or take) but it’s normal x
If he’s that big already I wouldn’t worry. He’s nearly two stone at almost 8 months. My little one won’t touch any sort of breakfast she wakes around 7:30 and has her first bottle at 9 o’clock she only drinks 5oz if that. She then has her lunch which she barely eats anything but refusing any sort of bottle till 2pm and then she’ll only drink about 3/4oz she then has her dinner which she’ll tend to eat quite a bit of it then she has a 6oz bottle before bed and that’s it for a 24hour period
I think their growth is slowing around this age so they naturally eat somewhat less. He's still making lots of wet diapers and seems happy and not hungry, so he's probably not hungry! If you want to take another approach to grown-up food, you could try making some gelatin-heavy broth (like from chicken feet) and give it to him to drink. Mine drinks that with some added egg yolk and grated liver for iron. It's still liquid, so maybe he would take it, but lots of good nutrients in there.
I could’ve written this myself - mine also just turned 8 months on Saturday. We’ve had no luck with solids and I’m stressed about what I’ll do when he is 1 and actually needs to properly go on solids. We’ve tried everything including purées, BLW, organic freshly prepared food and pouches. Even tried different spoons to see if it helps. Nothing makes a difference. Same with milk as well - milk intake has reduced. He would guzzle 6-7 oz per feed. Now we can barely get 4 months. No words of advice sorry but just saying you’re not alone. Hopefully our LOs will snap out of it soon 🫠
