Yes!!!! I am 10 months postpartum and still rebuilding my core strength. & I’m so shocked because I was a very active person prior to pregnancy and I even continue to weight train throughout my pregnancy. It literally amazes me every day how much pain I have after workouts compared to what I used to. It’s like I’ll have more energy than my body could actually take so I’ve learned to shorten my workouts drastically until I work my way back up.

Yes it is. Our bodies were full of hormones to relax our ligaments and keep us soft and ready for birth. Make sure you start with basic core engaging breath exercises until those become easy. I had to go through emergency c-section and those were all I did for months, plus walking and carrying baby. I started Pilates style gentle workouts around 6m bc it took that long for me to feel well enough to want to start. It was hard for me to do a basic plank lol, let alone pushups. I just went with all the modifications I needed and as I felt stronger, decreased the modifications. If you can move at all, great, just think of it as starting at zero and give your body time to adjust.

Yes it is normal!! It’s INSANE to me how weak I was after having a baby. I worked out consistently for 10 years and was shocked at how non-existent my core was after baby and challenging even getting up off the floor was. Take your time and modify as needed! I can only do 20 minute workouts right now 5 months pp :)

yes

@Vanessa I wasn't ready..... I'm really in my feelings about it.

@Cindy I had a c section as well. They don't tell you about this side of recovery and how our body will be very different in so many ways. I will go slow and stay consistent because I definitely feel like im starting at zero. Thanks!

@Katie Duggan This is definitely a game changer and it's playing on my emotions..... I felt so embarrassed... My core and thighs were giving out extremely fast

Your body just did SOO much. Keep thinking about that every time you're feeling down. Don't be embarrassed, be proud. Take it slow and you'll see improvement in no time. I wish I took it slower because now I'm having so many pelvic floor issues. Preggers again so giving my body grace this time around.

@Dria yes! I hear you. It’s frustrating and embarrassing but your body is incredible and will bounce back with time. And yes… it took me a long time to get enough strength back to do actual lunges and am still modifying a lot (my lunges are pretty pathetic) but I know it’s just where I’m at now but not forever. You are not alone. 🤍

14 months pp and still weak 🥲 i used to squat + RDL at least 135 lbs but i dont even do that with the barbell anymore. just 25lb dumbbells in each hand is as much as i will go now but it doesnt help that i only go to the gym 1-2 x a month and the rest of my workouts are just cardio and home body weight and core workouts.. im just listening to my body still but 10 wks is SO early!!!

@Dria girl i hear you! And its hard cause everybody says to give yourself grace, its early, etc. But sometimes it dont matter. I feel so outside my body it can get hard to be positive.

@Bryanne Thank you and Congratulations!!!

@Katie Duggan Thank you....we will not be here forever💛

@Samantha Do you think I should wait before getting into it and just walk for now? In my mind I just knew I was ready but my body didn't agree

@Vanessa very hard... I broke down. My emotions are all over the place. My mom passed away 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to reroute some of this energy and emotions
