Protein intake

How many grams of protein should I be getting a day? For reference I’m 127ish pounds. I was hitting over 100, but then I feel like I’m not getting in enough fruits & carbs and I’m basically only eating protein. I feel like 1 gram per pound is just too much 😅

Depends on your goals but 100 is good too! If you’re trying to work on body recomp then you would eat 120-130 g of protein a day. It may seem like a lot but the way that make it easier for myself I dividing the amount of protein I need by the amount of meals I’m going to have a day. So if you’re eating 3 meals a day, you’ll need 40 g of protein for each meal

General rule of thumb is, divide your weight in pounds by 2, that’s the minimum amount of protein in grams you should be eating per day. Ideally you want a little more, but minimally if you’re 100lbs you need 50g of protein daily, if you’re 140lbs you need 70g of protein, etc. if you are exercising or gaining muscle you’re definitely gonna need more!
