Separation Anxiety at 2 years old

My 2 year old has never really had separation anxiety. I was always able to leave him with other family member either for a day or a night. Since starting nursery he has got really bad separation anxiety. He only wants me and doesn’t even want to be left with the family members. Is this normal?
