Weight gain

Hey guys. I gained probably a total of 50lbs during pregnancy. I’ve only been able to lose 10 and I’d like to lose at least another 40-50 more… looking for any advice I’m so self conscious and I’ve always struggled with my body even prior to pregnancy. I am breastfeeding but any advice would be appreciated

It took 9 months to make a baby, and it will take time to lose weight. It wont happen overnight. Give yourself grace! My first pregnancy I gained 65 pounds and it took me a year to lose it. I bf for 10 months and held on to the last 10 pounds until after I stopped bf. This is pretty normal. Some people do hold onto weight while bf. The best way to lose weight is to be in a calorie deficit which is hard to do when your bf, but again, not impossible. Stick to high protein/fiber rich foods. Load up on veggies so you eat throughout the day. Drink lots and lots of water. Working out doesn't need to be strenuous, even walking everyday and making a goal to do 10k steps a day makes a difference. Strength training can help build your confidence, it takes time and a lot of dedication. I love Caroline Girvan on YouTube. Remember to be kind to yourself!

Ooh I love your top in the pre pregnancy photo! Where is it from? You just grew a baby so definitely be kind to yourself! While it’s hard to diet per se- you can definitely focus on eating healthy and nutrient rich foods. If you struggle with this, using a meal delivery service may be helpful. I use hungry root and really like it. And you can work on being active! Do you exercise? It’s sooo hard to get to the gym after having a baby- so what I do is I just break up sets of certain things like squats or lunges throughout the day. I don’t focus on getting in one big workout because let’s face it- that is impossible right now!!

I’m pretty sure that top was from Victoria secret!!

Thank you both 💕 I def am tough on myself and not eating as well as I should be!

are you breastfeeding? sometimes breastfeeding can make you hold onto that extra weight I’ve heard. Having a tough time with losing some myself!
