Has anyone ever experienced their toe or foot being numb for an extended amount of time?

Im not talking about it falling asleep either. The side of my left big toe has been numb for almost 6 months. I have been to the doctor about it and all my testing has come back normal and they pretty much told me it's in my head from anxiety. I feel like I need to see a nerve specialist and the doctors aren't listening. Sometimes it's more noticeable than other times but it never really goes away and occasionally it will be the whole side of my left foot. I've also been experiencing vertigo and lightheadedness more than what I feel is normal. Not sure if that's related or not.

You don’t possibly have a bunion on that big toe joint, do you? I’ve known these to cause issues with tingling and numbness due to extra pressure on the foot in that area from shoes.

ME! Go see a podiatrist. I’m currently trying to figure it out with my doc. I’m not sure if it’s a nerve problem from when I was pregnant OR maybe gestational diabetes related. Unsure but don’t let them tell you it’s in your head. These doctors need to take women’s healthcare seriously. I’m sorry they said that to you and tried to make you question yourself.

@Taylor I get a callus there that I use a pumice stone on. I don't think I have a bunion. My mom does though so idk if they are hereditary.

@Katherine Thank you. I've also been thinking about going to see a chiropractor to see if an adjustment will help.

@incog I think they may be, and women are more prone to them due to our tight fitting shoes 😭 I ended up getting one on my left foot in high school since my running shoes weren’t wide enough 😵‍💫
