Eye colour

When will we know our baby's final eye colour? Me and my partner both have dark eyes, but our little girl has blue eyes (she's 6 months old in 2 weeks). Is it likely that as they're still blue now that they'll stay blue? Or is it more likely that they'll turn brown? My mum has blue eyes, so there is some blue in the genetics somewhere! I dont mind either way, just curious

Yesss same here, he born with dark eyes and turn the blueish, ı wonder ıf them turn another colour. Most people say at 6 months is the final colour but some people say eye colour can change until 1 year. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was told it takes 6 months for eye colour to change and up to a year to decide on the shade of that colour so from light or dark me and my partner have brown eyes but our little girl had very blue eyes and she is 5 months were hoping they stay blue and don't change 😂

Google seems to think it can take up to three years for eye colour to fully settle. Me and my husband are brown eyed, my three boys are brown eyed. Little girl has blue eyes!

Yeah I'm pretty sure there's not really a timeline and they can take a couple of years. I remember my younger sister always had a stripe of brown in her eye but the rest were blue and saying to my mother and step dad "I think she's going to have brown eyes" they both insisted that she would have them by that point and that the stripe will just stay there. Must have been at least 1 when I was saying it. She has got brown eyes now. My baby seems to be changing. Few weeks back we thought hazel and my partner was convinced as he's got hazel but now they're getting more and more brown in them and I've got brown eyes!

My son was born with dark brown eyes and I mean dark I can’t see his pupil unless he’s in the sun and 6 months later they’re still black I don’t think they’re going to change anytime soon
