How do people feel about Murray?

How do people feel about Murray? I love Murphy, though my husband maintains it is a dog’s name. And we did nearly name a dog Murphy once… Murray is my maternal grandfather’s middle name (he says he doesn’t like it, though😅) and Ray is my dad’s middle name. I kind of like the idea of using Murray and being able to call him Ray for short if wanted. Sort of a double honor name. Not sure how I actually feel about the sound, though? I feel like it gets a little muddled in the mouth. My husband’s stepdad has wanted us to use an honor name for him for our past two sons because he doesn’t have any biological children. So Murray James would be a likely combo if we ever used it. We have a Warren Patrick (my paternal grandfathers name and husbands/FIL’s middle name) and Clyde Theodore (zero family ties just liked it lol).

It does sound very muffled when pronounced. At least to me. I think Ray is nicer, or James Murray flows better. Do whatever you love though, it only has to be like by you and your husband ☺️

I like it! It’s different and not in a weird way. I say go for it!

I like the name. I agree James Murray flows better but if you want it to be his given name Murray James doesn't sound bad. Murray with Ray as a nickname is cool, and the fact that you have a family connection too 👍
