Any working Mamas making homemade baby food ?

My baby is 8 months and has been slowly eating solids since 6 1/2 months. We are now at 2-3 meals a day plus formula in between. Its easy when I am home 4 days out of the week but I work 3 days a week and she goes to a baby sitter. We send her with formula and Gerber oatmeal cereal but thats it and the baby sitter just adds it to a bottle mostly. I want to send her with food I make at home but unsure how to transport it or keep it fresh. Usually I make fresh food everyday or make batches for 2-3 days and then have it in one container in the fridge and scoop it out as needed. Idk how it would work to transport it to the babysitter, both portion wise and freezing and thawing process. Any suggestions ? Alternatively I can send her with fruits and veggies for the baby sitter to prepare but I don’t want to give her extra work.

Are you open to pouches? There are various stages (purée to chunky) and 100% organic ones. I have a nanny and she feeds 1-2 veggie or meat pouches to my 9 month old per day

I’m not working yet but i have some silicone trays so i batch cook a few different things, pop them in the freezer and once frozen bag them up. I then just cook from frozen, either in the microwave or in a saucepan on the oven hob. Or I get it out of the freezer in the morning and put it in a little pot in the fridge to defrost then heat when needed x

Not sure if this would solve this issue completely but I make food and freeze it in 1oz or 3oz ice trays from Amazon. If you take it out in the morning it will take a while to get defrosted so it should be safe during transportation??? I would maybe choose things that can be had cold if the babysitter can’t warm up the food. You can easily pop whatever your baby is having that day into a Mason jar and should be good to go

So I make batches and then use an ice cube tray to freeze them. I bought reusable pouches on Amazon and then when he needs lunch while we are out and about I will microwave (you could also just thaw in advance) whatever ones I want to put together and I’ll add whole milk yogurt and/or peanut butter for added fat.

@Kyla Yes I am looking at pouches on Amazon now. That and silicone ice trays.

@Sophie okay so reheating does destroy the quality or texture?

@Jessica thank you. I will order the ice trays as well and maybe a little lunch bag with an icepack.

Could you send avocado or other fruits/ veggies soft and not needing refrigeration? Otherwise could you try purreing beans and sending them or having babysitter do that? There’s also frozen pouches that I store and transport milk and food in on Amazon! https://a.co/d/9ROwS5C
