How to make them spit out the tooth paste?

I thought they'd learn to spit out by now but clearly not. Does anyone have any tips on how to make your lo spit after brushing their teeth? My lo is constantly fighting brushing too so it's an even bigger struggle to get him to spit!

My daughter sounds like she's spitting her toothpaste out because she brushes her teeth with me and her dad so probably watches us and mimics but she's only got baby toothpaste so I don't think she needs to spit that out really

Under 3 years they only need a smear of toothpaste, size compared to 1 grain of rice so there really not much for them to spit out and it's for this reason. Once they turn 3 it's a pea sized amount which is still tiny but they're more likely to spit at that age x

Our 3 year old gets it now. Our June 23 baby doesn’t he has only really just started to get comfortable with us brushing them. They will work it out in time.

The dentist says it’s actually better to not spit or rinse after so don’t worry at all x you can even google it x

Thank you all, that's a relief to know! 😊
