She could've said no thank you instead of being disgusting. But she decided to be hurtful to a 4yo child. I'd make it clear that those actions are not acceptable. Ask her what the real problem is, bc she's taking her shitty life out on a child I'd give her a chance to apologize to my child. Otherwise she'll continue to be disrespectful by hurting them.

A strangers five year old gave me a handful of daisies in the park whilst our kids were playing together and I said “oh wow thank you so much! Can I put them in my bag so I can take them home?” and she was so pleased. Literally still finding dried daisies in my bag 🤣
