what should i do?

so i had an ectopic pregnancy and ended up having surgery and they removed the baby & right tube. on the consent form their was an option to either leave the remains with the nhs and they ‘ cremate it ‘ but i’m muslim and dont believe in that so i opted out for receiving the remains so i can organise a burial. I consented to them taking it to the lab for extra testing but its been 2 weeks and still didnt get a call back from the hospital. has anyone been through this who knows how long after until you get the remains back? any ideas, ? what should i do? mentally and emotionally i wont be okay until i receive them back to have some sort of closure and be at peace.

Hi there, I just want to say I’m really really sorry for your loss 🤍 I lost my son at 18 weeks a few years ago and since it was a spontaneous preterm labour, I also agreed they’d take the remains to the lab and try to figure out what happened. It’s very foggy for me since it was such a hard time I didn’t realise how time was passing but I’m pretty sure it took about 3-4 weeks for us to get our cremated remains back after their lab checks. Praying for you and your baby, stay strong <3

Sorry for your loss. I had a complicated loss (molar pregnancy) but it did take 2.5 months to get their body back post surgery (came in a wooden box we were able to bury). We set aside a bit of the garden and said goodbye.
