awww did baby enjoy the veg? we're also doing a mix of BLW and purées, we did the same with our first and she has always been such a good eater so just hoping baby is the same😅😅
@keisha He did! Preferred the cauliflower over the broccoli but I’m going to give him spinach next week so he can adjust to the taste before he gets the sweeter ones! I’ve found BLW quite difficult to be honest! Purées are working a lot better for us at the moment! I think I’ll attempt BLW again maybe in a few weeks x
I tried some banana spears tonight and was terrified incase baby bit and chocked on it 😬
We've been going for a couple weeks but did give some tiny tasters before. Have tried rye bread with cream cheese, scrambled egg, melon (big favourite!!), banana, strawberry, tangerine, cucumber, potato, sweet potato, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, pasta bolognese and tomato. We try BLW but he does need a bit of help sometimes but generally enjoys everything and hasn't spat anything out because he doesn't like it 😅
For purees are you adding any other flavours?
@Jade oh bless him🥰🥰 yeah got to just follow baby haven't you, he'll get the hang of BLW! my little girl loves playing with the food but won't try to eat it🤣🤣 whereas she is loving trying to spoon feed herself xx
@Danielle oh the fear of choking is the worst - i was a wreck with my eldest, she gagged a tiny bit the first time she ate and it panicked me so much😅
@Liv ahhhh amazing sounds like your little one is well on his way! can't wait to get a few more foods under our belt and start feeling a bit mote confident with it all, took me a while to enjoy it with my eldest because i was so anxious😅
@Lizzy honestly the purée i've used has just been a morrisons pre made one - i probably won't buy loads of pre made ones, i like doing most of it myself but i got some in in case she didn't take to the BLW! so the first one we did has been spinach, peas and broccoli i think! and i have another one which i think is sweet potato, carrot and swede. with my first i made a few recipes from a weaning book x
@keisha we have good days and not so good days. Some days he'll start crying and then we'll stop and try again later or the next day. I just want him to taste things and make it a positive experience with plenty of variation for him, so no rush xx
I used this weaning chart which I found really helpful to make sure I was giving my LO a variety of foods. I actually date in the circles rather than tick so I can see when he’s had what so he’s not having the same thing everyday. Then each week I plan out my meals for him (or a rough idea) and pick a few things to put together in a meal for him. I try not to overthink it with making fancy things, especially at this age so will just select a few couple of things he’s not had recently and give him them and he loves it. I do a bit of puree and solids to chew on. Hope this helps! I’ll also add our weaning chart so you can see what he’s had when. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1883715605/?ref=share_ios_native_control
We’ve done broccoli (puréed and also stems given for baby led weaning) and cauliflower so far just puréed! We also do porridge in the mornings 🫶🏼
