@Kaina I’ve given her so many teething toys but she just throws them, she chews on her fingers but that’s about it
My little one has been chewing since around 5 months I started at 17 weeks with purées for many different reasons and under guidance but I use to do the chewing movement even though it was puréed but she started doing it then maybe when she’s eating or your feeding her you can emphasise on the chewing action
Mine struggled too! He will be 10 months next week and is slowly getting better, it just takes time with some babies. Things we do that I think have helped: cheerios for snacks, baby crackers, continued to offer things in spear form and obnoxiously modeled while he is eating! Some foods he still spits out if it involves chewing but lately he’s been pushing food to his cheeks with his tongue and doing chewing motions!
My daughter was sort of like this too. She never liked teething toys regardless of what kind it was. I encouraged her to practice chewing with crunchy snacks like Cheerios and freeze dried apple slices. I also took her pediatrician’s advice to literally teach her how to chew by slowly chewing with my mouth open. It seems silly but try to act as her mirror and exaggerate what you want her to mimic.
Does she have a teether? That might could help get her to start comfortably moving her mouth in the way she needs to chew and maybe also letting her watch you eat as an example might be helpful 😅 I can’t speak from experience on resolving this issue but this is what comes to mind first thing!!
